Job Summary
The Domestic Helper will be responsible for providing comprehensive household support, including elderly care, housekeeping, cooking, grocery shopping, laundry, and other daily household responsibilities. The successful candidate should be able to work independently, manage daily tasks efficiently, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization throughout the home.
Key Responsibilities
Elderly Care
Providing quality care for one elderly family member will be your primary responsibility. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of patience, kindness, and respect when caring for senior family members.
Your duties may include:
– Providing daily companionship and emotional support
– Assisting with daily living activities when required
– Ensuring the elderly family member remains comfortable and safe
– Helping with mobility if necessary
– Preparing meals according to dietary requirements
– Assisting with medication reminders when instructed
– Monitoring the elderly person’s general well-being
– Accompanying the employer to nearby appointments or short walks if required
– Maintaining a calm, caring, and respectful attitude at all times
– Communicating any health or safety concerns to the employer immediately

Housekeeping
Maintaining a clean, organized, and hygienic home is another essential responsibility of this position.
Daily housekeeping duties include but are not limited to:
– Sweeping and mopping floors
– Vacuuming carpets and rugs
– Dusting furniture and household items
– Cleaning bathrooms and toilets
– Cleaning the kitchen and food preparation areas
– Washing dishes and kitchen utensils
– Making beds
– Changing bed linens regularly
– Organizing bedrooms and living spaces
– Cleaning windows when required
– Taking out household waste
– Maintaining overall cleanliness throughout the home
– Ensuring all household areas remain neat and presentable every day
Candidates who take pride in maintaining a clean and organized home are preferred.
Laundry and Ironing
The successful candidate will also be responsible for all laundry-related duties.
These responsibilities include:
– Washing clothing by hand or machine
– Sorting laundry appropriately
– Drying and folding clothes
– Ironing garments carefully
– Organizing wardrobes
– Caring for delicate fabrics according to instructions
– Maintaining laundry equipment in good condition
Cooking
Preparing nutritious and delicious meals is an important part of this role.
Responsibilities include:
– Preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner
– Cooking healthy home-style meals
– Following the employer’s dietary preferences
– Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene
– Properly storing ingredients and leftovers
– Planning simple weekly menus
– Keeping kitchen equipment clean and organized
Applicants with experience preparing Chinese meals will have an advantage, although candidates who are willing to learn are also welcome.
Grocery Shopping
The helper will also assist with purchasing groceries and daily household supplies.
Responsibilities include:
– Purchasing fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, seafood, and other food items
– Buying household cleaning products
– Managing shopping responsibly within the household budget
– Visiting supermarkets and local markets
– Ensuring essential household supplies are always available
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should meet the following qualifications:
– Must currently be residing in Hong Kong
– Finished contract applicants are welcome
– Terminated applicants will only be considered if termination was due to employer relocation, financial difficulties, or other acceptable reasons
– Break-contract applicants will not be considered
– Previous experience working as a Domestic Helper is preferred
– Experience caring for elderly persons is highly desirable
– Able to communicate effectively
