Position Overview

 

The Airport Cleaner plays an important role in ensuring that airport facilities remain clean, organized, safe, and comfortable for passengers, visitors, airline personnel, and airport employees. Successful candidates will perform cleaning and sanitation duties throughout various airport facilities while following company procedures and international hygiene standards.

 

The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality cleaning standards in a fast-paced international airport environment.

 

No previous experience is required. Comprehensive training will be provided before work begins, allowing new employees to become familiar with workplace procedures, safety regulations, and cleaning techniques.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of cleaning and housekeeping duties, including but not limited to:

 

– Cleaning airport terminals, departure halls, arrival halls, waiting lounges, boarding gates, passenger seating areas, corridors, and public facilities.

– Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, and vacuuming floors to maintain cleanliness throughout assigned work areas.

– Cleaning and disinfecting public washrooms, toilets, sinks, mirrors, and changing facilities.

– Replenishing toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, sanitizer, and other hygiene supplies.

– Emptying rubbish bins and disposing of waste according to airport environmental and recycling procedures.

– Cleaning elevators, escalators, staircases, moving walkways, handrails, and glass surfaces.

– Sanitizing frequently touched surfaces to help maintain a safe and hygienic environment.

– Dusting furniture, counters, display areas, windows, and airport equipment as assigned.

– Reporting damaged facilities, maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment problems to supervisors.

– Operating cleaning equipment safely and responsibly according to company guidelines.

– Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times.

– Supporting special cleaning assignments during peak travel periods, airport events, or operational requirements.

– Working closely with supervisors and team members to ensure cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and according to established quality standards.

– Maintaining professional behavior while interacting respectfully with passengers, airport staff, airline employees, and visitors.

 

 

 

Candidate Requirements

 

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

 

– No previous cleaning experience is required.

– Basic education is preferred.

– Physically fit and able to perform manual cleaning work for extended periods.

– Able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move continuously during work shifts.

– Willing to work rotating shifts, including mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

– Responsible, honest, punctual, and dependable.

– Strong work ethic with a positive attitude.

– Able to follow instructions and company procedures carefully.

– Good teamwork and communication skills.

– Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

– Willing to learn new skills through company training programs.

– Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, hospitality, airports, shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, or commercial facilities will be considered an advantage but is not mandatory.

 

 

 

Working Environment

 

Employees will work within various operational areas of Hong Kong International Airport. Assigned work locations may include passenger terminals, arrival and departure halls, boarding gates, public walkways, office areas, staff facilities, washrooms, baggage claim areas, and other airport public spaces.

 

The work environment is professional, well-organized, and supported by experienced supervisors. Employees receive the necessary equipment, uniforms, and training to perform their duties safely and effectively.
