Job Summary
As a Baggage Handler, you will be responsible for supporting daily airport operations by ensuring passenger baggage, cargo, and mail are transported safely, efficiently, and accurately between airport facilities and aircraft.
This position plays a vital role in maintaining on-time flight departures and arrivals while ensuring every passenger’s luggage is handled carefully and delivered to the correct destination.
You will work closely with supervisors, airline representatives, aircraft loading teams, and other airport personnel to maintain high operational standards and deliver efficient ground handling services.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
– Load passenger baggage, cargo, and mail onto aircraft safely and efficiently.
– Unload baggage and cargo immediately after aircraft arrival.
– Sort baggage according to airline, flight number, transfer destination, and baggage claim area.
– Transport baggage between terminals, aircraft parking bays, sorting facilities, and baggage claim areas.
– Operate baggage carts, dollies, belt loaders, tugs, conveyor systems, and other ground support equipment in accordance with company procedures.
– Ensure baggage is loaded correctly to support aircraft weight distribution requirements.
– Verify baggage tags and flight information before loading.
– Handle oversized, fragile, priority, and special baggage according to airline guidelines.
– Assist with transfer baggage operations for connecting international flights.
– Maintain accuracy during baggage loading and unloading processes.
– Support aircraft turnaround operations to meet strict departure schedules.
– Perform routine inspections of baggage handling equipment before use.
– Report damaged baggage, equipment malfunctions, or operational concerns to supervisors immediately.
– Follow airport security regulations and comply with all operational procedures.
– Observe workplace safety practices while working around aircraft, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
– Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from safety hazards.
– Cooperate with airline staff, security personnel, and fellow team members to maintain efficient airport operations.
– Participate in operational briefings and daily safety meetings.
– Complete assigned tasks within operational deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are responsible, physically fit, and committed to delivering reliable service in a fast-paced airport environment.
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
– No previous experience is required.
– Comprehensive paid training will be provided.
– Minimum secondary school education is preferred.
– Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy baggage repeatedly throughout the work shift.
– Able to stand, walk, bend, and perform manual handling tasks for extended periods.
– Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors under different weather conditions.
– Able to work rotating shifts, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
– Good communication and interpersonal skills.
– Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
– Responsible, punctual, disciplined, and dependable.
– Positive attitude with strong willingness to learn.
– Able to understand and follow workplace instructions and airport operational procedures.
– Willing to comply with airport security clearance requirements.
– Previous experience in airport operations, logistics, warehouse operations, cargo handling, or transportation is an advantage but not mandatory.

The role involves working near aircraft, baggage conveyor systems, loading equipment, and airport service vehicles. Employees may be required to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
